UPDATE 1-20-13 7:37 P.M. EST
The host, who is 83, was in D.C. ahead of President Obama’s second inauguration and was scheduled to contribute to ABC News’ coverage of the events but will not be on-air Monday, according to TV Newser.
After cutting her head following a fall, Barbara Walters was taken to a hospital Saturday night, but is alert and doing well.
Reportedly the reknowned TV host was visiting the British Ambassador’s residence when she fell on a stair and cut her forehead. TMZ reports:
Jeffrey W. Schneider, senior vice president of ABC News, tells POLITICO, “Out of an abundance of caution, she went to the hospital to have her cut tended to, have a full examination and remains there for observation. Barbara is alert (and telling everyone what to do), which we all take as a very positive sign.”
